  • Yield: 89 patties 1x
  • Category: Breakfast/Brunch
  • Method: Stovetop
  • Cuisine: American

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb. bulk breakfast sausage (I used Jimmy Dean Sage bulk sausage)
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled and grated – use the largest grater on your box grater
  • 2 TBSP grated onion – again, use the largest grater on your box grater (You want the larger pieces of onion and apple so you don’t wind up with mush)
  • 1/4 cup plain bread crumbs (not panko)
  • 1 TBSP half and half or cream (milk is too thin)
  • 1  large egg yolk (save the whites for another use)
  • 1 TBSP canola oil for frying if not using a non-stick skillet

Instructions

  • Mix all the ingredients together thoroughly in a bowl and form 8 – 9 patties
  • If using a non-stick skillet, no additional oil is needed. Fry patties over medium low heat for about 15 minutes, flipping halfway through
  • If using a regular skillet, warm the canola oil over medium low heat, add the patties and cook as above
  • Serve hot
